Qualifications:

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in public administration or a related field of study; A
minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior public sector position, preferably with a Self-Governing
Yukon First Nation.; Extensive knowledge and experience in negotiations is a considerable asset.
• Knowledge of LSCFN’s history, culture, language, demographics, goals and aspirations
• Knowledge of the Land Claims process
• Knowledge of the Final and Self-Government Agreements
• Knowledge of Yukon and Federal Government structures and processes
• In depth knowledge of LSCFN laws and Constitution
• Knowledge of issues related to agreements, plans and matters related to assigned duties
• Knowledge of a broad range of functions of all LSCFN departments and programs

Salary Range: $113,285.26-$135,580.26
Expected hours of work Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30 with some flexibility in line with
the needs of the program.

Desired Qualifications:

The Director of Health & Social Services must possess a degree, a diploma or certification in health
promotion, public administration, social services, or a related discipline; Must possess a minimum of
five years of work experience in a similar supervisory role; Must possess direct experience with
developing and administering health and social services programming; Must have a thorough
understanding of LSCFN’s Final Agreement, Self-Government Agreement, and all other legislation
and agreements related to the health and social services responsibilities and interests of LSCFN;
Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Must demonstrate tact and
diplomacy when dealing with other government agencies and parties; Must be proactive about
cultivating a professional network that aids LSCFN in achieving its strategic objectives; Preference
may be given to a LSCFN citizen; Class 5 Driver’s License.

Salary Range: $113,285.26-$135,580.26

Qualifications and Experience:
Post-secondary diploma or degree from an accredited college or university with
major coursework in construction management, engineering, or a related field; or
an equivalent combination of education and experience, or; 10+ years of
increasingly responsible project management in public sector construction
management, public works maintenance management, or related activity including
three years of management and administrative responsibility in a municipal setting
or a First Nation community. Knowledge of LSCFN’s history, culture,
demographics, goals and aspirations. Valid Class 5 YT Driver’s License.

Qualifications:
Extensive post-secondary training in public administration, First Nations governance, program
implementation and evaluation, or a related field; experience with change-management
organizational initiatives; considerable experience working within the context of a First Nation
government; experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programming related to First
Nations culture, heritage, education, and/or language; experience providing strategic direction and
visionary leadership in a related field; experience managing significant programming and payroll
budgets; experience seeking out and securing external resources to aid in achieving strategic goals;
knowledge and understanding of the fields of language and culture revitalization, and education, as
well as extensive experience in one or more of these areas such as language programming, preschool, k-twelve or post-secondary education.

Responsibilities /Qualifications: Reporting to the Family Support Worker, these positions
will be responsible to provide cooking services for the breakfast and lunch programs at the
Tantalus School. The main responsibility is to prepare weekly menu plans for a hot breakfast and
lunch available to all Tantalus School children; prepare and serve nutritious meals, as well as
cleaning the cooking areas and ordering food:
• Cooking Experience; Food Safe Certification (Training Provided);
• Prepare food orders;
• Prepare nutritious meals-variety of hot/cold foods;
• Prepare community dinners as required;
• Prepare foods for special dietary requirements;
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff meal preparation, duties and safe storage of foods;
• Prepare menu planning and posting menu in advance;
• Ensure cleanliness of food prep areas; Sanitize kitchen surfaces;
• Yukon Food Safe Guidelines must be maintained;
• Store food adequately to ensure safe standards as well as reduction of food waste;
• Prepare all meals on time daily;
• Keep an inventory of food;
• Other duties as required;
Physical/ Safety Requirements:
• Ability to stand on feet, sit, stoop, kneel and crouch safely;
• Lift heavy items safely;
• Ability to work in uncomfortable environment;
• First Aid/CPR (Training Provided)
• Criminal Record Check;
• Vulnerable People Check;
• TB Test
